Sun Home Cold Plunge Pro
The ice-bath tier of the category: a 150-gallon 316-grade stainless steel tub whose chiller runs below freezing and forms real floating ice, on a standard wall plug and its own 15A GFCI circuit.

When the spec sheet says ice, most plunges mean cold water. This one means ice.

LIFESPANVAULTUse it at Sun Home Saunas →Nearly every home cold plunge bottoms out between 37F and 39F, which is very cold water. The Sun Home Cold Plunge Pro is built for the tier below that: its brand-confirmed floor is 28F, and the 1HP chiller forms genuine floating ice in the 150-gallon 316-grade stainless steel tub. That is the entire pitch, and for the cold-exposure practitioner who has outgrown 39F, it is the only spec that matters.
The engineering around it is complete: foam-injection insulation between tub and shell, advanced ozone injection plus a UV sanitation chamber for water quality, built-in self-priming circulation, WiFi control, and a UV and rust-resistant exterior. It runs plug-and-plunge on a standard NEMA 5-15 wall plug with no plumbing, on its own dedicated 120V, 15A GFCI circuit, which is genuinely unusual at this performance tier. The brand quotes Business Insider calling it the best cold plunge they have tested and Forbes calling it fit for Olympians; both are the brand's cited press, reported here as such.
The honest trades: at $13,999 it costs roughly double the category's premium flagships. The standard warranty is 1 year, against 24 months on The Plunge and 60 months on Renu's tub, with 3 and 5-year options sold separately. It weighs 400 lb dry and holds 150 gallons, so placement is a decision, not an afterthought. And filters are a real running cost at $49 per 3-pack, swapped every 2 to 4 weeks per the brand.
This is a paying Lifespan Vault partner's product, and the assessment above is ours: the Pro is the credible answer for the buyer who specifically wants ice-bath temperatures at home, and overkill for anyone who has not yet found 39F insufficient.

Sun Home Saunas Cold Plunge Pro - buyer FAQ
How much does the Sun Home Cold Plunge Pro cost?
It is $13,999, verified August 5, 2026 against the brand's own store data, with the step-up Pro Apex at $14,999. Budget the filters too: $49 per 3-pack with a recommended swap every 2 to 4 weeks, which works out to roughly $212 to $425 a year depending on cadence.
How cold does it actually get?
Sun Home confirmed to us on 5 August 2026 that 28F is the definitive floor, and that ice forms thicker at 28F than at the 32F its marketing copy quotes. The chiller forms genuine floating ice in the tub. Either figure sits well below the 37F to 39F floor typical of premium home plunges.
Does it need special plumbing or power?
No plumbing and no 240V. It uses a standard NEMA 5-15 wall plug with an 8-foot cord and a built-in self-priming circulation system, but Sun Home specifies a dedicated 120V, 15A GFCI circuit; if you need a new outlet, a licensed electrician can add one. That plug-and-plunge setup at sub-freezing performance is one of its most unusual traits; most equipment in this tier expects more installation.
What is the warranty?
One year residential limited. Sun Home states extended warranties are available for purchase but does not publish their terms. That standard term is shorter than The Plunge's 24 months or Renu Therapy's 60-month tub warranty, which is worth weighing at this price; the extended options close the gap at extra cost.
Is this overkill for a beginner?
Honestly, yes. The Pro exists for practitioners who have found a 39F plunge insufficient and specifically want ice-bath conditions. If you are starting out, the category's premium flagships deliver an excellent cold-exposure experience at roughly half the price, and this page will still be here when 39F stops being cold enough.
