Who AI recommends when buyers ask about home saunas
We ran 6 core sauna buyer queries against the sources AI assistants cite. Across all 6, an independent publisher supplies the buyer answer in 1 of them. In 4 of the 6, one brand, Sun Home, effectively owns the "objective" pick through its own blog and PR syndication. Dated 2026-07-04.
What we measured
For each query, we recorded the top sources an AI answer engine would draw from: their format (brand page, brand blog, affiliate roundup, editorial, clinical, retailer), which sauna brands surface, whether any independent publisher appears, who effectively owns the answer, and the specific citable slot nobody fills. Every claim below traces to a recorded snapshot entry.
| Buyer query | Who owns the answer | Independent publisher? | Notably absent |
|---|---|---|---|
| best infrared sauna 2026 | sunhomesaunas.com | None | HigherDose, Sweat Kingdom, Peak Saunas |
| best home sauna for a small space | sunhomesaunas.com | None | Clearlight, Sweat Kingdom |
| infrared vs traditional sauna which is better | goodrx.com, mindbodygreen.com, drruscio.com | Partial (editorial) | All six target brands absent |
| best 2 person infrared sauna | sunhomesaunas.com | None | Sweat Kingdom |
| are infrared saunas worth it | mayoclinic.org, clevelandclinic.org | None | Sunlighten, Clearlight, HigherDose, Sweat Kingdom |
| best low EMF infrared sauna | sunhomesaunas.com | None | Independent EMF measurement absent |
The pattern
The recurring gap is the same across every commercial query: there is no independent, non-brand comparison table that publishes verified prices and measured EMF side by side. Brand-owned buyer guides fill that vacuum, so the answer an AI assistant returns as neutral is, in practice, one brand grading its own homework. The health-only query ("are infrared saunas worth it") is owned by clinical authorities, but none of them connect that context to a verified buyer decision.
How Lifespan Vault is closing the gap
This report is not an observation we file away. It is the brief for the coverage we build. The open slot, an independent comparison with verified prices and honest by-buyer-type verdicts, is exactly what these pages are for:

If you are a sauna brand
Look at the "notably absent" column. If your brand is not surfacing when buyers ask AI which sauna to buy, that is a measurable, fixable gap, and it is the exact thing we track. We run this same snapshot for a single brand, dated and monthly, showing where you appear, where you do not, and the specific citable slot to win. It is the reason a cold pitch turned into a same-day reply from one diagnostics brand this month.
We build a dated, brand-specific version of this report and a plan to own the gaps. See how the partnership works.
