Privacy Policy
How Lifespan Vault collects, uses, and protects personal data - in plain English.
The short version
We collect the minimum data needed to run an editorial publication and an affiliate revenue model. We don’t sell your data. We don’t share it with advertisers or data brokers. Our affiliate links use cookie-based attribution from the merchant, not from us. If you have any question about your data, email ryan@lifespanvault.com and a real person responds.
What we collect
- Email addresses when you sign up for the newsletter. Optionally, your first name. Stored in Resend (our email service provider). Used to send the welcome email and weekly newsletter. Never shared, never sold.
- Analytics via Vercel Analytics and, when enabled, PostHog: page views, time on page, referring URL, approximate location, device type, browser. PostHog can include session recordings with all form inputs masked, and it respects the Do Not Track browser signal. These providers may process your IP address transiently to derive location and prevent abuse; we do not store it alongside an analytics profile, and Google Analytics, when active, is set to anonymize IP.
- Performance data via Vercel Speed Insights: Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS) per page load. Anonymous.
- Outbound click metadata when you click an affiliate link: the merchant places a cookie on your device identifying Lifespan Vault as the referrer. We do not see this cookie or place it ourselves.
What we don’t collect
- Passwords, financial details, or payment information.
- Health, biometric, or medical data.
- Demographic profiling or device fingerprinting. (When we run ads, our pages load a Pinterest conversion tag and Google Analytics for measurement, described under Cookies below.)
- Anything you submit to a merchant after clicking out - that is between you and them.
Email use
If you sign up, you receive a welcome email and roughly one editorial email per week. Every email contains an unsubscribe link - one click, instant, no confirmation required. We do not send promotional/sponsored content disguised as editorial.
Cookies
Lifespan Vault places a small functional cookie when you dismiss the email capture popup (so it doesn’t reappear for 7 days). When we run advertising, our pages also load a Pinterest conversion tag and Google Analytics to measure whether an ad led to a visit or an affiliate click. These are measurement pixels, not audience-profiling or retargeting cookies, and a tracker-blocker or your browser’s tracking protection blocks them.
Sub-processors
We use the following third-party services:
- Vercel (hosting + analytics + speed insights) - US-based.
- Cloudflare (DNS + email routing) - US-based.
- Resend (transactional + newsletter email) - US-based.
- PostHog (product analytics, EU-hosted option available) - US-based default.
- Affiliate networks (Impact, ShareASale, Awin, CJ, Refersion, ClickBank, PartnerStack, etc.) - see /disclosure for the full list.
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA / general)
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of any data we hold about you (typically just your email + signup date).
- Request deletion of all data we hold about you.
- Unsubscribe from emails (one click on any email’s unsubscribe link).
- Opt out of analytics: a tracker-blocker or your browser’s tracking protection blocks our analytics and any ad-measurement pixels, and our PostHog product analytics also respects the Do Not Track signal.
To exercise any of these rights, email ryan@lifespanvault.com with the subject line “Privacy request”. We respond within 7 business days.
Children
Lifespan Vault is intended for adults 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has signed up for our newsletter, email us and we will delete the record immediately.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy in a way that materially changes data practices, we will email subscribers at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Minor wording updates are reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
