The WHR01 is Waterdrop's whole house water softener, sold by Ecolife Technologies, Inc. of Ontario, California. It has two parts: a resin tank with an LCD control valve on top, and a separate brine tank that holds the salt. Waterdrop says it reduces Ca2+ and Mg2+. The listing sells the softener alone in three capacities: 32,000 grains with 28 L of resin, 48,000 grains with 42 L and 64,000 grains with 56 L.
Waterdrop publishes the resin tanks as 48 in by 9 in across, 54 in by 10 in and 52 in by 12 in, so the 64,000 grain tank is wider but shorter than the 48,000. Listed weights are 93.3, 130 and 162.5 lb. The manual asks for an indoor spot near a floor drain, laundry tub, sump or standpipe, with the brine tank no more than 10 feet from the resin tank.
Installation is where Waterdrop's pages disagree. The product page headline reads Easy Installation and describes the unit as preassembled for quick setup. The manual says the valve goes into use after installation and trial running by a professional, and the product FAQ suggests appointing an installer. Installation is not included and no price for it is published; Waterdrop lists independent installers in a US directory and makes no representations about them. Waterdrop asks for a whole house filter ahead of the softener, and for well water the manual adds an iron and manganese filter. Neither filter is in the box, and neither is salt.
The valve runs from an included power adapter rated 18 W, with a 110 to 240 V input at 0.16 A. The manual sets feed water limits of 21.8 to 87 psi and 41 to 100 °F. The valve offers six regeneration modes, delayed, immediate or intelligent, each in down flow or up flow, while the product page names up flow regeneration only. Service flow rate in gallons per minute, salt and water used per regeneration, brine tank size and maximum hardness in grains per gallon are not published.
The WHR01 does not appear on NSF's NSF/ANSI 44 listings for residential softeners. Waterdrop's own footnote limits its NSF wording to component materials.
The manual's limited warranty gives 10 years on the resin tank, 5 years on the control valve, 1.5 years on the injector and 1 year on the brine tank and bypass valve. It is void outside the pressure and temperature limits or for a unit bought outside Waterdrop's site and authorized dealers, and labor is not mentioned.

How much does the Waterdrop WHR01 water softener cost?
On Waterdrop's US store on October 9, 2026, the WHR01 was $2,499 for 32,000 grains, $2,999 for 48,000 grains and $3,499 for 64,000 grains, with no struck price. The 48,000 grain size was sold out. A car wash system listed as worth $271.99 is added free. Installation, salt and a whole house filter cost extra, and shipping and tax were not checked.
What comes in the box, and what do I buy separately?
The order holds the resin tank, control valve, bypass valve, brine tank with lid, power adapter, tank jacket, float valve, brine well, grid plate, brine, overflow and drain tubing, and the manual, shipped in two boxes. You supply the salt: coarse crystalline salt of at least 99.5% purity, per the manual. Waterdrop also wants a whole house filter fitted ahead of the softener.
Do I need a plumber, and how is it delivered?
Plan on one. The product page markets easy installation, but the manual expects a professional to install and trial run the valve, and the product FAQ recommends an installer too. Connections are 1 inch male NPT, and Waterdrop publishes no installation price. Orders ship from a US warehouse, with no freight or liftgate terms published for a unit weighing up to 162.5 lb.
What power and space does the WHR01 need?
It runs from the included power adapter, rated 18 W with a 110 to 240 V input, and the installation drawings show a 110 Volt outlet beside it. Waterdrop lists the 64,000 grain resin tank at 52 inches tall and 12 inches across, plus a brine tank kept within 10 feet. Waterdrop rates it indoor only, and it needs a floor drain or similar drain point nearby.
What does the warranty cover, and can I return it?
Waterdrop covers the resin tank for 10 years, the control valve for 5 years and the injector for 1.5 years, valid only with feed water between 21.8 and 87 psi. Labor is not mentioned. Opened returns cost more: the product FAQ charges 30% of the price once opened and 50% once connected to water, plus return shipping.
