The Savonlinna is Golden Designs' 3 person outdoor sauna with a barn roof, SKU GDI-8503-01. Heat comes from an 8.0 kw stove with built in controls, and no infrared heaters are listed. RecoSauna, a reseller in Covina, California, calls itself an Official Golden Designs Inc retailer on the page. We found no dealer list on the Golden Designs pages we read, and Golden Designs' counterfeit notice says products bought outside its authorized channels are not warranted. Ask RecoSauna to confirm its dealer status in writing before paying $3,000.00 more than the maker's own sale price.
Golden Designs gives the stove an ideal range of 170 to 185F and a ceiling of 190F, and the owner's manual advises against going above 190F. Heat up time, the stove's maker and model, and whether stones come in the box are not published.
Inside is natural Canadian red cedar behind a door listed as bronze privacy tempered glass. The manual shows a lower bench support and a bench foot step for this model; the upper bench support is on the 6 person version only. An interior LED control panel handles FM radio and Bluetooth through built in speakers and switches the color light, roof lights and bench lights. A sandglass, bucket and scoop are included. The outside is described only as All Weather Exterior.
Golden Designs lists the exterior at 73 by 70 by 89 inches, width by depth by height, with the roof overhang adding 4 inches of depth, and the interior at 63 by 64 by 84 inches at the peak. RecoSauna's spec list says 69 by 68 by 89 outside and 63 by 62 by 82 inside. Power comes from 2 supplies: a dedicated 240V 40AMP circuit for the stove, hardwired by a certified electrician, and a 120V 15AMP outlet for the lights and music.
The room weighs 1185 lbs assembled and ships by freight in 11 boxes to the curb or end of the driveway. RecoSauna's policy includes residential freight in the continental USA at no charge. Its lead times run from up to 5 to 7 days in the buy box to 21 to 30 business days in its shipping policy. The manual calls for 4 adults, 2 ladders and a level base such as a concrete slab, pavers, gravel, cinder blocks or a solid wood deck.
RecoSauna's warranty is 5 years on heating elements and electronics and 1 year on wood components and structure. Golden Designs' version runs 5 years on the wood structure when properly maintained, plus the control panel and its wiring, and the lights, and leaves the stove to its own maker's warranty. The return terms contradict each other: the product page offers 30 days for an unused sauna in original packaging, and RecoSauna's refund policy calls every sauna custom made and non-returnable after delivery.

Both listings include a sandglass, bucket and scoop.
What electrical work does the Savonlinna need?
It needs 2 supplies. The 8.0 kw stove needs a dedicated 240V 40AMP circuit, hardwired by a certified electrician with copper wire rated to 90 degrees Celsius, and the manual rules out adapters, extension cords and aluminum wiring. The lights and music run from a 120V 15AMP outlet. Breaker size and wire gauge are left to the electrical code in your area.

How is the Savonlinna delivered, and who builds it?
It ships by freight in 11 boxes at 1385 lbs, to the curb or end of the driveway. RecoSauna's product page says the driver unloads; its shipping policy says unloading the crate is the customer's responsibility. Carriers cannot move crates into backyards. The manual calls for 4 adults and 2 ladders to build it, and Golden Designs offers assembly through Out of The Box, price not published.
What warranty comes with the Savonlinna, and can I return it?
RecoSauna lists 5 years on heating elements and electronics and 1 year on wood and structure. Golden Designs defines its Limited Lifetime Warranty as 5 years on wood structure, the control panel and its wiring, and lights, parts only, with the stove left to its own maker. On returns, RecoSauna's product page allows 30 days for an unused sauna, and its refund policy says saunas are non-returnable after delivery.
