Peak Saunas builds and sells the El Capitan itself at $16,750, publishes 22 spec rows for it, and then contradicts its own warranty page on the one row a $16,750 buyer reads first.

Peak Saunas sells the El Capitan direct, and on September 9, 2026 the price on its own site was $16,750 for the four person outdoor cabin. That is a promotional figure, not the list price. The brand's own breakdown puts the sauna's list at $19,995, then adds a $3,598 red light value, $1,500 crate delivery, a $588 per year club membership and a $150 gift box to reach the $25,831 printed beside the price. So $25,831 is a bundle total, and the only anchor a buyer should compare against is the $19,995 the brand states for the cabin alone. Financing is offered through Bread Pay, loans made by Comenity Capital Bank, on orders up to $20,000, at rates from 0% to 34.99% APR, with a published example of 36 monthly payments of $38.19 per $1,000 borrowed at 21.99% APR.

The cabin measures 81 inches wide by 55 inches deep by 83 inches high, weighs 695 lbs assembled, and gives an interior of 76 by 50 by 77 inches. The spec table lists 13 heating panels combining carbon far infrared with halogen and quartz, full spectrum output of 700 to 25,000 nm, and a maximum of 170°F, while the manual puts the high temperature cutout above 175°F. Two red light panels of 9 by 36 inches carry 216 dual chip LEDs across eight wavelengths from 630 nm to 1060 nm. Power is the line that decides whether this cabin is installable at all: 240V, 30A, 5,300W on a dedicated circuit, a NEMA L6-30P plug into a NEMA L6-30R receptacle, a 9 foot cord leaving the bottom center of the back wall, and a licensed electrician. Running it on a power strip, an extension cord, an adapter or any non dedicated circuit voids the warranty, and the sauna is not compatible with GFCI outlets unless specified for the model. Buy it for four seats, not five: the spec table and the Shopify title both say 4 person, and only the browser page title says 4 to 5 person.

Peak publishes 22 spec rows and still leaves gaps a buyer at this price will feel. We could not confirm an EMF figure in milligauss, any numeric clearance to walls, fences or a roof overhang, heat up time to 170°F, running cost per session beyond the 5,300W rating, country of manufacture, bench or door dimensions, seat weight capacity, insulation R value, a weather or ingress rating for the outdoor enclosure, a snow or wind load rating, or a UL, ETL, CE or CSA listing mark. The clearance gap has teeth. The warranty voids installations outside the minimum wall and roof clearances specified in Section 1 of the manual, and Section 1 asks only for a few inches on all sides without naming a number.

Delivery is free and moves by LTL freight, curbside only, left on a pallet, after a carrier call that sets a four hour appointment window the buyer has to be present for or pay redelivery and storage fees. The crate weighs over 1,000 lbs and the manual asks for at least four able bodied people to move and lay it down; assembly after that is three adults for 3 to 5 hours on tongue and groove panels, with black sealant, a caulking gun, a drill and gloves supplied by the buyer. The base matters as much as the crew: concrete, pavers, composite decking or a pressure treated platform keeps the warranty, while grass, soil, gravel or any surface where water pools around the base voids it. Timing is where the brand disagrees with itself, so budget wide. The spec table says 1 to 2 weeks, the page's structured data says 1 to 3 days of handling plus 7 to 14 days in transit, and the shipping policy says 2 to 4 business days of processing plus 3 to 7 business days in transit. The same page shows zero inventory and two different ship start dates, September 15 and September 20, 2026, so no arrival date is safe to plan around before the order is placed.

On warranty, read the warranty document and ignore the spec table: the product page says Limited Lifetime with lifetime US based support, while the warranty page and the El Capitan manual both say 7 Year Limited Residential. Under that document the aluminum housing, the baked varnish finish and the infrared heating elements get 7 years, the control system and both red light panels get 3 years, and the chromotherapy, audio, WiFi and accessories get 1 year, to the original purchaser only, non transferable, starting at delivery, and the sauna has to be installed within six months of that date or it is not covered until Peak inspects and approves it. The lifetime support line is one year of diagnostic only coverage, capped at $350 per claim and one site visit, with repair labor, part replacement labor and reinstallation excluded. Exterior coverage holds only with cleaning every 1 to 3 months using a pH neutral detergent, a monthly rinse in coastal or high salt air, and hardware inspection every 3 to 6 months, and commercial or rental use is excluded, with a separate 5 year commercial warranty sold as a $999 add on. Returns run 30 days from delivery at a 25% restocking fee, which is $4,187.50 on this order, plus return freight the buyer arranges and pays, on a crate that has to go back fully disassembled in its original packaging. Cancelling before the order ships costs 5%, or $837.50, and transit damage has to be reported within 48 hours of delivery or it cannot be claimed at all.
