DubsLabs publishes the figure that decides the category for side sleepers, at less than 1/4 inch thick and covered in soft foam, and words the fit the same way: the design lies so flat the speakers practically disappear between your ears and your pillow. It never says whether that measurement includes the foam, and its own blog applies the same figure to the speaker rather than the assembly. Its own how-to-wear page tells you to angle the speaker outward so it lies flat against the angle of your ear.
