The verdict

We have not scored these two head to head, so this page does not name a winner. The PuroAir 400 starts at $279.99 and the Sans Air Purifier at $369.99. The per-buyer recommendations below say who each one suits.

Who should buy which

Pick the PuroAir 400 if

An open-plan main floor, a large family room, or a shared space where one unit has to cover more ground than a bedroom purifier can, and where price still matters more than independently-measured top-tier performance.

Skip if

You want a published CADR, a stated HEPA grade, or independently-verified best-in-class clearance. Coway Airmega, Blueair and IQAir all publish more and test better. Also skip if the room is under 600 sq ft, where the 130i costs less than half and runs quieter.

Pick the Sans Air Purifier if

Buyers who want one HEPA and carbon floor unit for an open living area, who like reading PM2.5, PM10 and VOC levels on the unit itself rather than in an app, and who will budget for a new filter on a regular schedule to keep the warranty valid.

Skip if

You compare purifiers by CFM or AHAM figures, since Sans publishes only a metric delivery rate; or you mainly need clean air in several closed rooms, where Sans itself points to more than one unit. The Mini is a separate listing at $199.99 to $209.99.
