Oova Fertility Hormone Kit: LH, PdG, E3G at Home (OCK01)

Oova turns a urine strip and a phone camera into numeric LH, E3G, and PdG readings, replacing the binary smiley-face ovulation test with an actual hormone curve.

Oova is an at-home hormone monitoring system from a New York company founded in 2017 by Amy Divaraniya, PhD. Each kit contains 15 LH and PdG test strips plus 15 E3G strips, per Oova's own product spec. The routine is simple: wet a strip, wait, then scan it with your phone camera. The app converts the strip into quantitative readings of luteinizing hormone, E3G (a urinary estrogen metabolite), and PdG (a urinary progesterone metabolite), then plots the curve across your cycle.

That numeric output is the point. A standard ovulation predictor kit gives you a yes or no on the LH surge. Oova shows the fertile window opening as E3G climbs, the LH peak itself, and then the PdG rise the app uses to confirm that ovulation happened, all in one workflow. Oova states its measurements show 99% correlation with blood testing in independent lab testing, and its product schema lists the kit as HIPAA compliant and FSA/HSA eligible through Truemed. Those validation figures are the brand's own.

Pricing runs two ways: $129 a month on subscription or $159 for a single kit. One kit covers roughly one cycle of daily testing, so plan on the subscription if you are tracking month over month. The same two price points apply to Oova's perimenopause kit, which uses the identical strips with a different app program.

Where it gives ground: this is a real recurring cost next to a $25 strip pack, and if all you need is surge detection, the cheap strips still answer that. The readings are urinary metabolites, useful proxies but not serum values, and the correlation claim is Oova's, not third-party published on the box. Finally, Oova's marketing copy says FDA-cleared while its own structured data describes an FDA-registered in vitro diagnostic under 21 CFR Part 807; registration is a listing, not a clearance review, and buyers should weigh that distinction.
