- Best for
- Buyers with physician supervision arranged for use above 1.4 ATA, a 220 to 240 V supply and room for a 93 in chamber plus a separate compressor, concentrator and chiller, who want a lying hard shell to 2.0 ATA and will get the certificates and warranty confirmed in writing before paying.

The Alpha 90 is a one person hard shell chamber that you lie in, sold by Airvida LLC of Lenexa, Kansas. AirVida says it is manufactured in Europe and does not name the maker. A compressor pressurises the chamber with air to a maximum of 2.0 ATA, adjusted electronically. Oxygen from one concentrator, 93% ±3% purity on the spec table, is delivered by mask or by BIBS, with a BIBS flow rate of 20 L/min. AirVida describes touch control panels inside and outside, manual or automatic operation, CO2 and O2 sensors, an automatic ear equalizer, an emergency stop, two manual pressure release valves and a two way communication system.
AirVida's figures for size and weight do not agree. The product page gives 93 in long, 35 in deep and 44 in high, and a chamber weight of about 397 lbs. The 24 page Alpha 90 catalog gives 87 inches long and 60 inches high on page 4, a 90 inch length and a 35 or 40 inch diameter on page 10, and a weight of 250 kg on page 4 against 441 lbs in aluminum or 573 lbs in steel on page 10. Page 5 calls the cabin steel, and the listing does not say which shell is supplied.
Other conflicts touch the system itself. The air compressor is 170 LPM in the page's upper block and 650 LPM in its spec table. The concentrator weighs 35 lbs on the page and 408 lbs on the catalog drawing. The maximum occupant weight is 350 lbs on the page and 3,301 lbs as printed in the catalog. The chiller and the TV are each described as included in one place and optional in another.
The listing names ASME / PVHO-1, CE, PED and ISO 13485, and marks its certification strip "*Exclusions Apply*" without saying what is excluded. AirVida's disclaimer says its chambers are not FDA approved, and we found no AirVida or Alpha 90 record in openFDA's 510(k) or registration and listing databases on 2026-10-02. The same page requires a medical prescription to use a hyperbaric chamber in the USA and reads "Any usage over 1.4 ATA is considered medical grade hyperbaric pressure. Medical grade hyperbaric therapy requires physician supervision".
Delivery anywhere within the U.S. is free and includes onsite installation, testing, calibration and training, with cranes or additional equipment charged on top. AirVida's refund policy charges shipping both ways on a return. Power is given as 220 to 240 V, and the catalog rates the chamber at 3 kW, the compressor at 3 kW, the concentrator at 2 kW and the chiller at 1.5 kW.
The warranty is one year on parts on AirVida's warranty page and three years in the catalog. If the certificates are the reason to pay $79,000, get each one named against your chamber's serial number, and the warranty term written into the order, before paying in full.

AirVida Alpha 90 - buyer FAQ
How much does the AirVida Alpha 90 cost, and what comes with it?
AirVida's store listed the Alpha 90 at $79,000 in USD on 2026-10-02, one configuration with no struck price. The listing includes one air compressor, one oxygen concentrator and a water cooler. Its own feature list calls the cooler or heater optional and the TV optional, while other parts of the page present both as built in. The listing does not price the 100 cm diameter option named in the catalog.
Are delivery and installation included with the AirVida Alpha 90?
Per the product page, yes within the U.S.: free delivery, onsite installation, full system testing and calibration, and training. Cranes or additional equipment are billed separately, at an amount AirVida does not publish. Before delivery is scheduled, AirVida's shipping policy asks for accurate doorway, hallway, stairway and room measurements, and its pages list the chamber alone at between 397 and 573 lbs.
What power and space does the AirVida Alpha 90 need?
The product page lists a 220 to 240 V supply and dimensions of 93 x 35 x 44 in. The catalog rates the chamber and the compressor at 3 kW each, the concentrator at 2 kW and the chiller at 1.5 kW. Amperage, plug type, circuits, floor loading and ceiling height are not published.
What warranty does the AirVida Alpha 90 carry, and can it be returned?
AirVida's warranty page gives a standard 1 year parts warranty on all chambers, the Alpha 90 catalog says three year warranty, and the product page states no term. A return must be requested within 30 days of receipt, unused with no signs of any setup, with a 10% restocking fee, $7,900 at this price, and the customer pays shipping both ways. Custom products cannot be returned.
Do you need a prescription to buy an AirVida Alpha 90?
AirVida's disclaimer says a medical prescription is required to use a hyperbaric chamber in the USA, that a buyer may purchase first, and that AirVida ships once proof of prescription is provided. It calls use above 1.4 ATA medical grade pressure that requires physician supervision, and the Alpha 90 reaches 2.0 ATA. Clinical buyers must be licensed Medical Doctors or above. The disclaimer says the chambers are not FDA approved.
